Weekly Planning Bulletin changes 3rd August 2009

The weekly list now has 3 sections – one for new applications, one for proposal of application notices and one for the recent decisions.

Proposal of application notices (PANs) have just been introduced by the Scottish Government and these are submitted at least 12 weeks before we get a planning application for a national or major development. Although this does not apply to applications submitted before 3 August 2009, we may start to get PANs in the near future and we want you to get used to the new format of the weekly list before this happens.

PANs have been introduced so that communities are aware of development proposals about to be submitted for larger developments and so they have a chance to hear about the scheme at a public meeting and make comments on it. Sometimes we will ask for extra consultation to take place and this will also be in the weekly list.

The weekly list also has a new addition. You will see there is a field called ‘comments due by’ which will help you get comments in on time.

If you have any comments or concerns about the new weekly list, please contact Nancy Jamieson on 0131 529 3916 or Isobel Kenmure on 0131 529 3684.
