A total of 52 crimes or offences were recorded in the month of April for the Fountainbridge area.

Theft from licensed premises is quite low this month as is Theft by shoplifting

There were 8 assaults reported, mostly relating to domestic situations.

In relation to domestic housebreakings there were 8 such reports this month. A male has been charged in relation to three of these.

A total of 236 crimes or offences were recorded in the month of April for the Tollcross area.

The large number of crimes are Thefts from within licensed premises with persons leaving property unattended.

There were 43 reports of assault, twenty of which were solved.

There were 8 domestic housebreakings and 2 business housebreakings reported during April, so extra vigilance is required.

8 Domestic (Leamington Terrace, Gillespie Crescent (2), Tay Street, Gibson Terrace, Bryson Road, St Peters Buildings, Murdoch Terrace.

A male was charged in relation to the break-ins at Gillespie Crescent and St Peters Buildings.
8 domestic (Lawnmarket, Bread Street, Brougham Street, Glen Street, Lauriston Place, Lauriston Park, Bank Street and Cowgatehead) and 2 business premises. (Bruntsfield Place and Brougham Street).

The same person who was arrested for the break-ins on Fountainbridge Beat was also charged with the domestic break-ins at Bread Street, Brougham Street and Lauriston Place.

A juvenile has been charged with the Dundee Terrace/Street jobs.
8 in Castle Terrace, Keir Street, Chalmers Street, Tarvit Street, Grassmarket, Cornwall Street, Panmure Place and Lonsdale Terrace.

A Vauxhall Cavalier was stolen from Gillespie Crescent and an attempt was made to steal a Baghria motor cycle in Watson Crescent. 4 in total
A Honda motorcycle was stolen from Lauriston Gardens.
A Saab motor car was stolen from Johnstone Terrace. A Honda moped was stolen from Tarvit Street and a Ford Fiesta was stolen from Lauriston Street but has since been recovered.

There were no pedal cycles stolen during April. Thefts of pedal cycles is still a problem in the Tollcross area.

There were 6 in total these occurring at Victoria Street, Panmure Place, Buccleuch Street, George Square, Leven Terrace and Grassmarket.
